Why are many games not recognized? ?

  What do you mean not recognized.

  Your game should in .NSP or .xci format. 

  And In the setting you can set the path where the game is located. It has a glitch though: you need to tap it 2 times (set it 2 times) before the egg ns success to scan the location.

  The file picker has little bug i think. But still work for me. All games detected but not all playable.

  At least all 2d games i tested is works and all playable.
